Standard HK law firm layout: certification statement, Name, Solicitor Hong Kong SAR, Practising Certificate No., firm name registered with the Law Society, address, Signature / Date blanks.
For overseas-bound documents: traditional double-line border, longer 'I HEREBY CERTIFY…' wording, Notary Public + Hong Kong SAR, firm name, Signature / Date blanks.
Long-form declaration: full 'I, the undersigned, do hereby certify…' paragraph, 'Dated this __ day of __, 20__' line, name in block letters, title, membership / practising number, firm & address, signature blank.
Minimal stamp-only format: header + name + title/membership + date blank. Smallest footprint, good for everyday firm use.
In Hong Kong, a Certified True Copy (CTC) is required for bank account opening, Companies Registry filings, immigration applications, overseas course enrolment and similar situations. The legal weight comes from the certifier's identity and handwritten signature — the stamp itself just standardises the wording.
Recognised certifiers include: practising Solicitors, practising Certified Public Accountants (HKICPA), Notaries Public and Chartered Secretaries (HKCGI). A proper CTC chop typically contains: the certification statement, the certifier's name in block letters, their professional title, membership / practising certificate number, firm name and address, plus a handwritten signature and date.
Format varies slightly by profession — solicitors and CPAs emphasise their practising-certificate number; Notaries Public use a double-line border and the formal 'I HEREBY CERTIFY' wording; immigration and Companies Registry work may call for the full declaration version. The five templates below cover the most common needs; each is editable.
HK firms typically order CTC stamps at 43×55mm (L) or 55×67mm (XL). The SVG from this generator is vector — scales losslessly — just hand it to a local stamp shop and specify the physical size and ink colour (blue / black / red).
Common certifiers include practising Solicitors, practising Certified Public Accountants (HKICPA members), Notaries Public and Chartered Secretaries (HKCGI). Banks and some institutions (e.g. overseas qualification assessors) may require a specific category — confirm with the receiving party.
Standard practice: 'CERTIFIED TRUE COPY' or longer declaration, the certifier's name in block letters, professional title (Solicitor / CPA / Notary Public etc.), membership or practising certificate number, firm name and address — plus a handwritten signature and date next to the stamp.
No statutory requirement. In practice blue or black is most common (and clearly distinguishes the chop from a photocopy); red is sometimes used for emphasis or firm branding. Sizes are usually 43×55mm or 55×67mm.
Download the SVG or PNG and give it to any local stamp maker. Specify size (e.g. 55×43mm), ink colour (black / blue / red) and stamp type (self-inking or pre-inked).
